Phong Tran is a Brooklyn-based composer, electronic musician, and visual artist. His work often explores the creation of large textures using a minimal source of materials. His electronic works are heavily inspired by the sound of early synthesizers and the noises and grinds of experimental electronics.
His work has been performed by the JACK Quartet (Torision), Bearthoven (Slices and Agar), Just Duet (Wood), and various other musicians and artists in Newfoundland and Labrador, Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan, Georgia, and New York. He was a semifinalist for the 2016 American Prize for Composition (Chamber Music division).
